Blog rejigging

Now I have a few posts up and a slowly growing number of returning visitors I though it was about time to make this blog look and act a little better.
I have switched to Blogger Beta and plan to add categories for the serial posts and maybe a bit of eye candy here and there. Blogger Beta is, as the name hints, still in beta so my apologies if things go a bit awry occasionally as I rejiggle and hack away at it over the next week orso.

Response has been very good so far, and I'll endeavour to keep standards up and post as regularly as I can, but with a looming crunch you may encounter the occasional, shall we say, lag.
Remember to post comments if you have specific questions or suggestions for future post subjects. I may add an email contact address at some point to be used as a suggestion box.

  1. Just wanted to say I'm really enjoying reading your blog! (^-^)

  2. May I suggest a title banner/image expressing the epitome of "Gamesmanship" in a similar style to the diagrams in your blog entries ;)

As the above poster says, enjoyable read - keep up the good work.

  3. I like the current simple website. I write webmonkey scripts for most sites because their design is over complicated and distracting.

  4. I'll keep it as simple as possible. I've changed the layout to be wider, for a start. I found my posts to be rather long due to the formatting, but does this make them harder to read?

Also, is everybody seeing these annyoing edit icons? Can't seem to switch them off somehow....Grrr...

  5. I see no edit icons. The site looks a bit awkward being so wide but maybe I'm just used to the old way.

On an unrelated note, could you mention some of the games you have worked on?

  6. Yeah, I'm not too keen on this layout. I'm going to find a nice clean template and use that/ Bear with me.

With respect, this blog is semi-anonymous; I'd rather keep it that way. But don't worry, you have to be pretty geeky to have heard of any of the titles I've worked on.

  7. So, a new design for Japanmanship. I feel it is a little hacked out, as I used a Blogger template and tried to fit it around my aims, which wasn't easy. This whole CSS malarky isn't quite as obvious as I was hoping.

As behoves an artist I am my own harshest critic and I hate it already. It may change again over time but I hope this will do for a while.

Most notable addition is the "serials" section just above the archives. This binds together some serial posts I have written.

Please let me know if things don't work or look proper!

  8. Looks more personal now; glad you went back to the old text formatting, nice banner too. The blog seems to be working fine for me, and the neutral/clean approach puts focus on the content - good stuff.
