I think sleep is important and I hope the situation changes for the japanese companies because I hope to one day work in Japan too >_<.
In Singapore it used to be common for overnights, but now is getting better or at least my friends who are working now seem to be leading better lives now.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32650776.post-36207041734858485522006-12-27T14:13:00.000+09:002006-12-27T14:13:00.000+09:00Blogger has been acting up of late.

America just passed Japan.

He also said that American workers take less vacation time. Walked into work this morning and found the chef asleep on the sofa in the back, rising as if undead with a towel over his head, grunting a "bonjeur monsieur" in broken french as he lit a cigarette and headed for the nearest sink to brush his teeth :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32650776.post-58237540072136948112006-12-20T14:21:00.000+09:002006-12-20T14:21:00.000+09:00What I really find interesting is that I'm the onl...What I really find interesting is that I'm the only white person at a small company in California, the rest are Chinese and Japanese, and everyone else but me has the exact same attitude. A few times a week I come in to work and someone's asleep on the couch, or I happen to log onto IM at 3am since I can't sleep and they're *all* still there.

Makes me wonder if it's some deep-seated cultural thing, but I just am not going to stay over for the sake of the fact that other people do.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15561440511415478105noreply@blogger.com
